In order to keep all your software and virus control up to date on Apple Macintosh computers there is a program pre-installed on all Apple Mac’s called, unsurprisingly, “Software Update”. Unfortunately many Apple Mac owners either don’t use it or are unaware of it. This important program is in your main applications folder, or you can access it from the top menu bar under the Apple icon (see pic below), or you can also find it in your system preferences window.
If you haven’t been running your Mac “Software Update” program regularly, you will be missing out on many great updates that can speed up your programs and add new features to them. Not only that, you will be missing out on important virus control updates. Most apple users don’t install any extra virus programs, (Apple have their own built in) However when Apple do put out any virus software update programs it is done through this “Update Software” system, so it’s really important if you don’t have any other sort of virus program to perform these updates regularly. You should really run “Software Update” it each day for optimum protection, once a week minimum.
